Hello, I have to say the week has been going well, getting a lot of things done. I am trying to get my personal trainer certification, the classes are quite easy. I have been reading a lot about training and learning about the body so that has made it a whole lot easier, I hope that everything goes good, and I should have it all finished by the time i leave for Brazil.

The first is an article about priming, it is an amazing human quality, that seems like something that can be taken advantage off to use people. Well that is if you don’t know what to look for.

These are a few more interesting articles from the same website that I really like, the site is changingminds.org. I really love the studies that have been done on human nature and how to influence minds and trying to control people. That is one of the reason I read up on things like advertising and the techniques used to try to sell stuff, but also I have to admit if you can understand these principles you are able to try them out, and block them from being used on yourself. But I do have to admit it may discourage you at how it can work, it makes me feel dirty and very manipulative to see it working, but I try it just for experiment, but be sure to explain it to those you try it on if they are your friends so you can teach them something. I have had people feel bad and and some get angry, and I can really understand it, but the way I explain it we all do some form of manipulation by the way we act or phrase our statements, at all times we try to manipulate other to get what we want. It is really interesting to see how many techniques are really out there. One of the biggest fields and the grossest to me is the male dating game. Their are all kinds of programs to try to teach men how to mind fuck a women into fucking them, that’s sick. But you know I have never done any research to see if their are such programs for women, that’s is something I will look into see if women try to manipulate men the same way. I have to say women seem to do it more visually as in appearance rather then mentally as men like to go about it. It makes sense, I mean most women do think that men are stupid just visual creatures, which I don’t think they are wrong, I don’t even exclude myself in this, cause at bars conversations and time to get to know someone is not presented their. So if you wanna know a little bit more about psychology mind studies read these articles, they are pretty intriguing.

Last Sunday Katie and I spent most of the day in bed watching videos on the Internet, just some stuff she and I had collected and had not watched yet, so we spent a good day just laying and watching. It is a great way to spend the day.

So today I got up and it is a nice 95 degrees (I honestly love the heat) here in Kentucky, I was sitting outside and started to talk to a neighbor who was running out to get her mail, about air conditioning and how she has her air conditioning blaring and her power bill was going to be high this month, that got me to thinking about power and electricity and then I realized I honestly have no clue how we get and harness something that is dependent on every day so I went on the Internet and did some learning.

I am not going to talk about how we convert power into light or information such as bulbs and computers cause I have basic idea of how that works, but what I meant is the scheme as a whole, my prior knowledge is, damns and turbines turn and cause friction and then the power company does something with this power, that is about it for my previous knowledge.

Electricity comes from electrons, electrons have a negative charge. Conductors have free electrons some more then others, and the goal is to get those electrons moving. The moving electrons transmit electrical energy from one point to another. Electricity needs a conductor in order to move. There also has to be something to make the electricity flow from one point to another through the conductor. One way to get electricity flowing is to use a generator.

The generators need to spin to create electricity, these are basically big magnets, in most cases the thing spinning the generator is a steam turbine. The steam might be created by burning coal, oil or natural gas. Or the steam may come from a nuclear reactor. Once the AC power is either converted from DC, or generated in 3-phase AC  the distribution grid sends out the AC current into your home so that you can power your toys. From earlier, water is used but not the most common way and the water is used to make the generator spin, I figured I would mention it because of the statements I made before about what I thought I knew about power.

Power travels from the power plant to your house through a system called the power distribution grid.

The process is a lot more complicated and interesting then I made it here but this was the way I broke it down to remember it in my head, now that I know more about I think that I will be doing a lot more reading on this subject, mainly on magnetism, maybe I could be the next Tesla, ha, also the power company does a lot less then I thought. Note: I did not expand much on AC or DC because I remember a bit about Alternating and Direct current from Chemistry Class, but I do think that you should look it if it peeks your interest.

When I start looking into subjects I have found that nothing is to complicated to understand if you have a desire to understand it.
